This Sensory Tatami Rug is not only super stylish and contemporary, they're made from the highest density foam available. Our Snuggle Rugs expand to a super thick 35mm and the foam is a 35D (almost double the density of most brands on the market). 

*Please ensure you are happy with the colour/print prior to opening the shrink wrap as we are unable to accept unwrapped returns as this product can not be repacked. Product will require ironing and time to de crease on arrival- please see close up images on website.

We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Studio Lowana on our Snuggle Rug range-  Girliny Girlinyji Reef 2, infuses the play mats with Kamilya’s storytelling and cultural reflections, creating pieces that are as meaningful as they are beautiful. This design was featured on the 2024 season of The Block 2024 in Kristian and Mimi's house.  Each mat is a tribute to the strength of First Nations heritage and the importance of passing it on to the next generation.

"The Garra-Goon Collection is a tribute to the sea – it's captivating beauty, its unpredictable nature, and its powerful might. Reflecting on my upbringing, the vibrant hues mirror those found along the Victorian coastline while also honouring my grandfather's heritage and our people – the Saltwater People of Bardi Country. The wave-like motion embedded within these pieces further honour the transformative essence of the ocean.

This collection holds special significance to my young family. Created during the final stages of my second pregnancy, I continued painting until just hours before my son Reef was born. Witnessing Reef and my daughter Salty embrace their inherited love for the ocean, is truly precious."

Biography:

Kamilya Lowana White is a proud First Nations artist, born, raised and creating artworks in Naarm (Melbourne) on Wurundjeri Country. Ever since she was a child, she has been passionate about art, and enjoys creating with and exploring a range of techniques and mediums. Stemming from her Kija Bardi heritage, Kamilya is particularly interested in creating contemporary First Nations paintings, inspired by the land, storytelling and relationships with others, all depicted with a modern twist. Kamilya finds this specific art style therapeutic and uses it to express and ground herself, while deepening her connection with culture.
